Following two straight defeats at the hands of Hydra Reloaded, Pandemic Legion was counted out of the tournament by commentators and betters alike, with negativity surging in the stream chat, forums, Jita local, etc. Making confident betters (and Shadoo) doubtlessly pleased, PL proceeded to win the next three rounds due to a combination of poor leadership on the part of Hydra (notably target calling) and good play from Pandemic Legion, including a surprise shield+missile fleet. It has been widely speculated that Hydra was intentionally running setups traditionally attributed to PL for humiliation factor, and if so it doubtlessly cost them the tournament, though they did take home the bragging rights of smashing one of Pandemic Legion’s Adrestias. Plenty of amusing gaffs came out of both sides, such as a PL Guardian dumping reps on the wrong Celestis and Hydra choosing to primary a Rattlesnake while the PL Scimitar was still up. hen they abandoned the Rattlesnake after losing a Navy Vexor and a half, they switched targets to the Scimitar … and killed it instantly. The conclusion to AT XI ended up providing plenty of laughs, and not all of them involved Shadoo’s commentating.
Pandemic Legion and Hydra Reloaded will both be taking home fifty-run BPCs of the Chremoas and Moracha, whose stats are reproduced below. Pandemic Legion holds the unique prize of tournament winner bragging rights, while Hydra Reloaded is lucky enough to take home an Adrestia kill.
