LOWSEC HAS A NEW KING: THE NAVY ARMAGEDDON

YOUR NEW GOD AND SAVIOR, MUD RACE HERETIC FILTH

As we’ve all heard, many of the T1 and faction ships in the game are being rebalanced and changed around for the upcoming release of Odyssey in two and a half weeks. One of the ships getting a boost is the Navy Armageddon, and the proposed ship (which you can test out on SiSi right now) is 100% awesomeIt gains slightly over 1,500 armor points, a somewhat bigger (200 m³ vs 175 m³) drone bay, 5k more vanilla lock range, 500 extra grid, more shield and structure, and a bigger capacitor. There’s also some shit nobody cares about other changes like sig radius (it’s a battleship guys) and a boost to vanilla sensor strength (because of Falcon).

The extra armor and cap mean that a good brawling ship is about to become an even better brawling ship. Since it’s gained raw armor instead of resists, I wouldn’t count on any active fits even if the larger cap (and subsequent larger cap/sec) helps out wish such ventures. I would wager that the Navy Armageddon will fall into a Bhaalgorn-esque role of holding things down in a fight, only a bit less shiny and more doctrine-friendly. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if alliances start using the Navy Armageddon as a MJD-capable brawling HAC of sorts, with the free ability to neut and web the shit out of things. The four mid slots allow for a traditional point (or faction scram) and dual faction web fit or a more contemporary single web fit that includes a MJD for more mobility.
